Well, helllllo.
Welcome, welcome.
We've been waiting for you
(so has Punxsutawney Phil, 'less you make him out to be a liar)
and welcome your coming
(despite this mediocre showing of a day)
(despite this mediocre showing of a day)
with open arms!
I am kicking off my own personal
Spring Wonderland
Spring Wonderland
with a trip to Ireland,
but I have many fun things planned
for the coming months --
now that the weather will be warmer.
For one,
I am begging my brother and sister-in-law to take me in April
when I return to the D.C area to pick up Godiva.
I've never been to it
(if we are being honest, I didn't know it
existed until today!)
and Cherry Blossoms
are my favorite thing about spring.
We used to have a few trees in front of my childhood home
and every Spring it rained pink confetti!
I also have an outdoor tea party
planned for my girlfriends and I
sometime in April or May (TBD)
I've always wanted to host one
(not a political one, just one with
tea cups, scones, and maybe even some macarons -
tea cups, scones, and maybe even some macarons -
we're having a tea party...lets get fancy!)
and I'm feeling ambitious this Spring.
P.S I've never met a photo of a macaron I didn't like.
Also fast approaching
is my 3rd Divas Half Marathon
(but 4th overall half)
in San Francisco Bay
(traveling May 1-5)
While it won't be my first trip to Cali
or the San Francisco area,
it will be my first time exploring the area
more thoroughly with two very special girls with me:
My mom and one of my best friends, Vanessa!
We plan on wine tasting in Napa Valley,
wearing some flowers in our hair,
and meeting some gentle people there...ha ha
(the song?! yes? no?)
Anyways - I'll be racing that Sunday
with two of my best gals cheering me on
and then coming home that night
(god help whoever is sitting close to me on the plane
when the muscle aches and subsequent moaning commence)

May + June are always very busy months.
It's back to work for a very busy season at Prime,
You have Mother and Father's Day thrown in there,
a Memorial Day BBQ (kick-off to summer)
my cousin Jeneen's bridal shower + bachelorette party + WEDDING (ahhh!)
my cousin Jeneen's bridal shower + bachelorette party + WEDDING (ahhh!)
Godiva's 7th Birthday (my little girl is growing up so fast!)
and the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island
(I'm never missing out on an excuse to dress as a mermaid again
DO YOU HEAR ME?)
My mermaid costume doesn't even go with
the Halloween stuff anymore, its hanging in my closet.
Like it's an outfit.
Ha ha, I find that really amusing
Anyways, some good stuff coming up.
What are you doing with your Spring?

As a veteran cherry blossom dude, I was wondering if you knew... The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the March 27, 1912, gift of Japanese cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo City to the city of Washington. Mayor Ozaki donated the trees in an effort to enhance the growing friendship between the United States and Japan and also celebrate the continued close relationship between the two nations. (Until Pearl Harbor Day of course starting WWII)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Now for the more obvious question: Why do you know that? LOL
