While I'm not the hugest fan of Chris Brown,
his voice is hot and his new single is FIRE.
Listen to the words, and listen well.
If he isn't treating you like 'fine china'
(i.e precious, rare, fragile)
then guess what?
HE GOT TO GO!
I get asked a lot why I'm single
('You're such a great catch!' - yeah yeah yeah.
Tell that to the ring NOT on my finger!) :)
'I'm just picky' is my usual reply,
which is TRUE. I AM picky.
But I don't think thats it.
I think the older I get,
the more I know what I want,
the less 'garbage' (I'll use that word to be nice) I take,
and the more resolved I become to NOT settle,
otherwise I could have been married 3 boyfriends ago.
I've dated some great guys, don't get me wrong.
Some lasted longer than others,
and I've learned and grown a lot along the way,
trust me - I have. Sometimes the hard way.
I also don't want to risk seeming incapable of being pleased.
I am the most appreciative person
and I really adore the small stuff - I'm totally not the girl thats like
You pay my tab. You foot the bill for this amazing date.
Buy me this. Buy me that.
Complain. Complain. Complain.
Agh! JUST NO.
That's why it pisses me off that I know
girls like that who ARE married -
like how in the hell?!?
But maybe I'm not picky.
Maybe I'm JUST incapable of dealing with bull_ _ _ _'ers,
those who say ONE thing and their ACTIONS say different,
those who don't know what they want
(I'm not your dating punching bag while YOU figure it out)
and those who are more trouble than they're worth.
No, you go back where you came from -
I'm not insecure enough to stay with someone I know
isn't right for me.
Thanks, I'm good! :)
So, here I stay.
Single (and not loving it) - ha, ha.
I really DO hate being single -
let's face it. I'm just the relationship kind of girl.
I like cooking for someone.
I like a gym buddy.
I like a fellow movie critic.
I love spooning (and everything in between).
I love being loved.
I love loving in return.
So if that means staying single for the rest of my life
before I waste my time dating another WRONG person
(I'm sick of dating. WHERE IS HE?)
then so be it. I'd rather be alone than settle.
I don't need to be in a relationship to be happy.
I have other things in my life that fulfill me.
But if you see him, you tell him I'm lookin' for him ;)
So, RANT OVER...Chris Brown's new song.
I heard this on the radio and I love the lyrics,
because its about just that.
Not settling.
If he isn't treating you
like you're worth something to hold on to,
guess what?
BUHHHH BYYYE!
Tap the video above to listen to the song,
I'll post the lyrics below.
Lyrics: 'Fine China'
* gray denotes my favorite parts
Baby, does he do it for you?
When he's finished, does he step back, and adore you?
I just gotta know, cause your time is money
And I won't let him waste it, oh no, no
Baby, just go with it
Cause when you're with me, I can't explain it, it's just different
We can take it slow or act like you're my girl let's skip the basics, oh woah
He's so replaceable
You're worth the chase, you put it on
It's alright, I'm not dangerous
When you're mine, I'll be generous
You're irreplaceable
A collectible, just like fine china
Favorite, you're my favorite
It's like all the girls around me don't have faces ;)
And the saying goes
Life is just a game but I'm not playin'
He's so replaceable
You're worth the chase, you put it on
It's alright, I'm not dangerous
When you're mine, I'll be generous
You're irreplaceable
A collectible, just like fine china
It's alright, I'm not dangerous
When you're mine, I'll be generous
You're irreplaceable
A collectible, just like fine china
Give me a weapon, your love
Ain't no amount of time, in this world
Save me a lot of time, and just love me
Feel it baby, feel it in your soul
Are you ready?
I know your heart's been telling you belong me
It's alright, I'm not dangerous
When you're mine, I'll be generous
You're irreplaceable
A collectible, just like fine china
I'm closing with this because it's one of my favorite Oscar Wilde quotes
and its applicable to this song and to the feelings I've poured out above.
Ladies listen up, internalize this, adapt it and make it yours.
I hope you really believe that.
xo,
Rach
