Forgiveness is hard.
Partly, because we don't want to absolve those
responsible for hurting us -
responsible for hurting us -
whether emotionally, physically, mentally, etc.
However, I think this quote has it right.
"Forgiveness has nothing to do with absolving
a criminal of his crime.
a criminal of his crime.
It has everything to do with relieving oneself
of the burden of being a victim--
of the burden of being a victim--
letting go of the pain and transforming
oneself from victim to survivor."
oneself from victim to survivor."
Forgiveness is freeing.
It empowers.
It gives the control back to the victims,
who no longer view themselves as one.
This is my prayer for those affected
in the Boston Bombing -
whose hearts were broken,
and lives were changed
when their world turned upside down
on April 15, 2013.

Rach
